Immaturity shadows Nuggets' Anthony - Denver Nuggets

Two days before the NBA season ends, as the Nuggets mount their final playoff drive, Carmelo Anthony is arrested for investigation of drunk driving at 4 a.m. on I-25.

The blood test won't be back for a couple of weeks. We won't know until then if he was legally drunk. We do know he was driving erratically on I-25 at 4 a.m. in a week when his team needs him more than ever.

Melo Cited for DUI in Denver - Denver Nuggets

Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony was arrested this morning on suspicion of DUI.

Anthony was pulled over at about 4 a.m. on southbound I-25 at 20th St., said Sharon Hahn, a Denver police spokeswoman.

A Denver police officer pulled Anthony over after he "failed to drive in a single lane" and for "failure to dim his lights," Hahn said.

Nuggets Win Playoff Showdown Over Warriors - Denver Nuggets

Allen Iverson squared up, hit a 3-pointer and raised his arms to the air, having thwarted Golden State's final charge. There was no downplaying the importance of this win that put the Denver Nuggets in control of the race for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Iverson scored 33 points, J.R. Smith added 24 off the bench and the Nuggets overcame a 16-point deficit in the first quarter to win their playoff showdown with the Warriors 114-105 Thursday night.

Nuggets Cool Off Suns to Take Over Eighth in West - Denver Nuggets

Allen Iverson poured in 31 points, shooting 9- for-18 from the field and a perfect 11-for-11 at the charity stripe, and the Denver Nuggets held off a late push by the Phoenix Suns to claim the back end of the home-and-home set, 126-120, and settle into the eighth seed in the Western Conference playoff race.

With Golden State's 116-92 loss at San Antonio, the Nuggets jumped the Warriors and took a half-game lead for the final playoff spot in the West. Denver also moved to just a half-game behind idle Dallas for the seventh seed.

Martin's 30 Leads Nuggets Past Warriors - Denver Nuggets

The music in the locker room after the game was appropriate. Kanye West's "Good Life'' blared out of the loudspeakers, and Nuggets players were singing along.

The Nuggets on Saturday night were living the good life, beating Golden State 119-112 before a sellout crowd of 19,844 at the Pepsi Center in what was touted as the biggest game of the season.

Carmelo Anthony scored 32 points and sparked the decisive run in the third quarter of the Denver Nuggets' 118-105 win over the sliding Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

Allen Iverson added 31 points for the Nuggets, who won their fourth straight and moved into a tie with Golden State for the eighth and final playoff spot, one game behind the Mavericks. The Warriors played Portland later Thursday night.
