Clippers Fill Their Tallest Order - Los Angeles Clippers

It's the biggest rebound of the year for the Clippers. And, arguably, the most dramatic in their tortured history.

One week after the heart and soul of their team, their most skilled, most respected and most beloved player, Elton Brand, walked out on them, along with Corey Maggette, their leading scorer, the Clippers obtained an imposing substitute in 6-foot-11, 235-pound Marcus Camby. Camby, the NBA defensive player of the year in 2006-07, was obtained from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for a conditional second-round draft pick in 2010.

Conditional because it gives the Nuggets the right to exchange picks with the Clippers in that second round. If, however, the Clippers have the lower pick and Denver chooses to pass on the opportunity, there would be no further compensation.

Maggette, Mobley Likely To Be Sidelined - Los Angeles Clippers

November 20th, 2007
Clippers' leading scorer Corey Maggette probably will be sidelined for two to three weeks while recovering from a strained right hamstring, the team learned Monday.

The Clippers are also considering resting swingman Cuttino Mobley until his strained groin heals. Quinton Ross (bruised right knee) and Al Thornton (sprained right ankle) will be game-time decisions Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets .

The injuries come as the Clippers (5-4) prepare for their toughest stretch of the early season. After playing the Nuggets, they close out the month against the Phoenix Suns , New Orleans Hornets , Houston Rockets and then Denver again.

No Extension Talks For Dunleavy Yet - Los Angeles Clippers

Febuary 13, 2006
The Clippers' best start in team history coincides with this being the last year of Mike Dunleavy's three-year contract. The team holds a club option for next year, which is expected to be picked up. However, no serious extension talks have transpired yet between the team and Dunleavy's agent Warren LeGarie. "I'm not worried about that at this point,'' Dunleavy said. Joe Safety, the Clippers' vice president of communications said, "Right now we're all on the same page and everyone is focused on the task at hand.''
